A summarizer asks you to hand over the very documents you care most about. Here is exactly what happens to them, in the order it happens.
01Upload to deletion, step by step
Your file uploads directly to temporary storage over an encrypted connection. The server counts its pages, reserves them against your allowance, packages the content for the model, and then immediately deletes the uploaded file. From that point the only copy of your document that ever existed on our side is gone; what remains is the queued summarization work and, later, the finished summary in your archive.
02Why the output is cited
Every key claim in a Summarize Pro result carries the supporting quote and its page number, produced by the model’s citation mechanism against your actual document text. This is the honest answer to the question every summary raises: did it make that up? You can check any line in seconds. Verify what you act on; the original document is always the system of record.
03What the AI does not do
Your documents are processed under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, which do not use API inputs or outputs to train models. We do not read your content, do not sell or share it, and run no advertising trackers. The model is instructed to treat your document purely as content to summarize, never as instructions to follow.
04Where things live
Summaries and account data live in an EU-hosted database (Stockholm). Payment data lives at Stripe; we never see card numbers. The full details, including every subprocessor, are in the privacy policy and the DPA.
